Burke & Wills 150 Years $1 2010

On 20 August 1860, the Burke and Wills expedition left Melbourne for the Gulf of Carpentaria. While the explorers reached the Gulf, the expedition ended in tragedy. In June 1861 the two men died on Cooper's Creek. Following their deaths, Burke and Wills were lauded as heroes, and they are still remembered today.
